You're clearly about 3 analytical steps ahead of me, as usual. That being said, Fables is my favorite and always has been, which is strange since I'm such a huge fan of all the other college rock from that time that sounds absolutely nothing like it. I think on this one they finally got the atmospheric thing right after searching for it and getting it only inconsistently on earlier albums. I can't really sit in that atmosphere for too long anymore without feeling overwhelmed, but I still love it. . .
