While iming with a dear old friend, I was asked, ‘Aren’t you pissed about the new show ripping you off?’. Uncertain what she was talking about, I was directed here, and thought. Oh my god this is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.

I was wrong. This is.

For those of you not in the know, old Dirt is simply crazy about those six whacky twenty-somethings from SoHo, and in particular the future Jennifer Bag. Dirt-n-Jen. Jen-n-Dirt. Forget Vince. I’m here.

Wow. Since my last post on site traffic, I’ve gotten 27 hits in 6 days, 19 of them TODAY. Dang.

Last night fell asleep thinking of the most brilliant comic, which I’ve completely forgotten today. And it’s pissing me off. Also, I think I actually got ripped off by a gypsy. No shit.

I’ll have to come up with some new idea for today’s comic to satisfy my new ‘fans’. Welcome aboard, btw.

I need to add a sweet PS story to this. Recently, I got in touch with Owen aka Casiotone for the Painfully Alone to ask about some vinyl stuff. I casually asked if he knew Jeffrey Brown since, well, they both live in the small town of Chicago.

Turns out they had gone out to dinner a couple months ago with a mutual friend, and I thought, man, to be a complimentary piece of bread on THAT table.

All over, people changing their votes. Along with their overcoats.

First of all, if you don’t know James Urbaniak, he’s one of my favorite actors, and has a nice blog over here.

Secondly, in looking at my windows media player, I have ‘over four hours’ of the following artists: Built to Spill, Luna, Husker Du, Stereolab, Devotchka, and Elliott Smith. I have less than 10 minutes of:  Tom Jones, Journey, and Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Tried several times this weekend to make the Shins poster via photo-emulsion with horrific results every time. Tonight I plan on taking a scapel……and making stencils. Will be a little less cool, but at least will get done. Haven’t actually HEARD from anyone at the Fillmore, so may also all be in vain.

Before lunch I was mister productive, banging work projects out, and now I’m diddling about on the blog. Oh well.

All I want to do is sit, have a few cocktails, and get a little sad. Nostalgic. With breath like mustard gas and roses. I want to build a fifty room house, where everyone in my life who’s ever mattered could come and live. Sadly, I can only build that house in my own brain. Which I’m slowly killing with booze. I sent my Shins poster to the general manager of the Fillmore. He wrote back, said thanks, and said he’d pass it along to the PR department. Hope I hear back from them. Yesterday I got the transparancies done for the four-color print, and I’m planning on making a test run of 5-10 of them this weekend.

That’s the image for the yellow stuff in the print. I think it’s going to rule.
